uWaterloo Stratford Campus
A digital media campus
Located in Stratford, Ontario, the University of Waterloo Stratford Campus is a facility that houses the latest and greatest in digital media technology. Students have access to high-end computer labs, audio and video recording studios, professional mentorship and support, and a bright and spacious work environment. While the campus hosts some impressive resources, one of its coolest features is a 3-story tall display that offers a memorable experience to patrons every day.
Thanks to a donation from Christie Digital, this display features an array of 150 MicroTiles, one of the company’s many high-end display products. MicroTiles can be connected to form unique display arrangements that are not possible with traditional signage hardware, and that’s how this visually stunning wall was created.
The tall and narrow form factor of the display wall presents a unique challenge for content creation. Using Visibull, designers have the flexibility to split displays into any number of sections, and publish different content in each. On the display wall, it would be possible to split the content into 150 independent widgets; though we imagine significant computing power would be required to do so!

Designer Jordan Mandel uses Visibull regularly to put together content for the massive display. He bases designs on current events, user engagement and important information to help project the messaging and memorable experience desired at the campus. Students, staff, and faculty alike can always look forward to new and informative content on their famous display.
